drug discovery. Tools like AlphaFold and in silico “digital Potential for artificial intelligence to inform treatment
twins” are accelerating protein-ligand interaction modeling decision-making for treatment personalization. Hypertension
and allowing researchers to simulate trial outcomes on virtual
patients, significantly reducing the time, sample size, and
costs required to bring new CV drugs to market.
This review highlights how AI is poised to revolutionize the
entire lifecycle of CV medications, accelerating early-stage
in silico drug discovery while refining individualized dosing
at the point of care. Realizing the full clinical value of these
computational advances will require the establishment of
strict regulatory standards for algorithmic medical software.
Furthermore, developers and clinicians must collaboratively
ensure that these ML models are tested on unbiased,
external datasets so that precision pharmacotherapy can
be safely and fairly deployed without perpetuating historic
healthcare disparities.
